LG Washing Machine – UE Error
Laundry imbalance – load redistribution required
The UE error in LG washing machines is one of the most common and is usually not associated with component failure. It occurs when the laundry in the drum is unevenly distributed, which leads to imbalance during spinning. In this case, the washing machine stops or reduces the speed to prevent vibration, noise and mechanical damage.
What does the UE error mean
The UE (Unbalanced Error) code indicates that the drum cannot rotate evenly at high speeds. The LG washing machine uses sensors that monitor the stability of the drum. If excessive imbalance is detected, the machine automatically stops spinning or performs it at lower speeds.
Main causes of UE
Unevenly distributed laundry
Large or heavy clothes (blankets, towels, jackets) can gather on one side of the drum.
Too little laundry
Washing one or two heavy items of clothing leads to a lack of balance.
Overloading the drum
Too much laundry restricts free movement and proper distribution.
Leveling the washing machine
If the washing machine is not placed on a flat surface, the imbalance increases.
Worn shock absorbers or springs (less common)
In older appliances, wear of the stabilizing elements can lead to the constant appearance of UE.
Symptoms of UE error
The washing machine stops before or during the spin cycle
The drum tries to spin but does not accelerate
There is an uneven noise or vibration
The UE code appears on the display
What the user can do
Stop the program and redistribute the laundry manually
Add a few lighter items to balance the load
Do not overload the washing machine
Make sure the appliance is leveled correctly
Restart the program or spin only
When service is required
If the UE error appears constantly, even with properly distributed laundry and a normal load, there may be:
worn shock absorbers
a problem with the drum suspension
a defect in the balance sensors
In these cases, professional service diagnostics are recommended.
UE Error Prevention
Washing heavy clothes together with lighter ones
Avoiding washing single bulky items
Regularly checking the stability of the washing machine
Adhering to the recommended capacity.
